I'm planning my first trek to Everest Base Camp and wondering about the best time to go. I've heard October-November and March-May are ideal, but I'd love to hear from people who have actually done it.
What's the weather like during these seasons? How crowded does it get? Any tips for a first-timer would be greatly appreciated!

October-November is absolutely the best time! I did EBC in October 2023 and the weather was perfect - clear skies, stable temperatures, and the views were incredible. The only downside is it's the busiest season, so teahouses can get crowded.

I prefer late March to early April. Slightly fewer crowds than autumn, and you get to see rhododendrons blooming at lower elevations. The weather is a bit more unpredictable though, so pack layers!

Whatever season you choose, make sure to acclimatize properly. I made the mistake of rushing and got altitude sickness. Take at least 2 rest days in Namche Bazaar. The views from there are worth an extra day anyway!
